Lyndsay Klipfel is a credentialed Multiple Subjects educator. Having been a classroom teacher for seven years, she recognizes the unique challenges that face students as they navigate learning in the classroom environment and beyond. She knows that learning can be tough, weird, wonderful, and everything in between. Her secret weapons? Humor, creativity, and a whole lot of heart. Lyndsay’s mission is to help every student tap into their natural curiosity and find their own (sometimes unexpected) love of learning.

Colleagues call her the “Middle School Whisperer.” Parents have dubbed her a “Life Coach.” And students? They say she’s “basically a friend who’s really into talking about fractions and topic sentences.” Lyndsay has a knack for connecting with even the most hesitant learners, creating a space where it’s okay to be unsure, to ask questions, and to get a little messy in the process of growing.

She’s a big fan of asking big questions. Inspired by the philosophers who dared to think differently, Lyndsay brings that same energy into the classroom — only with more improv games and laughter. By mixing philosophical conversations with playful, off-the-cuff thinking, she helps students flex their brains in fun ways, build confidence, and start trusting their own ideas, whether they’re solving equations or navigating friendships.

Lyndsay is the co-author of Thinking Critically About What Matters: An Unconventional Guide, forthcoming from ALA Editions, the publishing arm of the American Library Association, forthcoming in Fall 2025.
